Preferred Hotels & Resorts dates from 1968 and is the largest collection of independent luxury hotels in the world: 650+ hotels in 80+ countries. It sorts them into collections, with Legend and L.V.X. at the top and Lifestyle and Connect alongside. The Leela and Virgin Hotels are among its members.
Preferred Platinum is open by invitation, and only through accredited luxury travel advisors. LVXVRY is one of them.
We book with the hotel ourselves and stay in touch with it before you travel, so the team knows who you are and what has been arranged.

When the privileges apply
You need the rate a hotel sets aside for accredited advisors — normally its flexible public price, at times an advance-purchase twin. Book a members’ price, a prepaid or non-refundable deal, a package, a company or contracted price, a special offer or a points stay, and the privileges drop away.
That is not always the wrong choice. Before we book, we set the rate that qualifies beside the hotel's other prices for your stay and tell you which gives more — even when the answer is the other price.
I Prefer points on the same stay
Give us your I Prefer number and it goes on the booking, so the front desk sees your membership when you arrive and points build up on any qualifying rate. If an I Prefer benefit and a Platinum privilege are the same thing, you get the better one, not both.
Set in advance, or decided on arrival
Breakfast for two and the hotel credit are part of the programme on the rate that qualifies. An upgrade, an early room and a late check-out are up to each hotel and how busy it is. We put the request to the hotel in writing, and leave the promise to them.

- No. The bill goes to you from the hotel, at the rate that qualifies; the privileges cost nothing on top.
- Which rates give me the privileges?
- Those a hotel sets aside for advisors like us — mostly its flexible public price, occasionally a pay-early version. Members’ prices, prepaid or non-refundable deals, packages, company and contracted prices, promotions and points stays are excluded.
- Is every privilege certain?
- Breakfast and the credit, yes, once you hold a rate that qualifies. A bigger room, an early key or a late exit rests on the hotel’s occupancy, and you learn the answer at the front desk.
- Do I still earn I Prefer points?
- Yes, on rates that qualify. We add your I Prefer number when we make the reservation, so it is there from the start.
