Fasano Hotels

Fasano Hotels is the hotel expression of one of Brazil's most influential hospitality families.

Fasano Hotels is the hotel expression of one of Brazil's most influential hospitality families. The Fasano name began in gastronomy long before it entered hotels, creating a brand in which restaurants, service, design and social culture are inseparable from accommodation. The first Hotel Fasano opened in São Paulo in 2003, translating more than a century of family hospitality into a contemporary luxury hotel. From that base the collection expanded across Brazil — including Rio de Janeiro, Angra dos Reis, Belo Horizonte, Salvador, Porto Feliz and Trancoso — and internationally to New York. Fasano's identity remains distinctly Brazilian: sophisticated but relaxed, highly social, design-conscious and grounded in a family tradition of receiving guests.

The brand

Fasano is a privately rooted Brazilian hospitality house whose history originates with the Fasano family's restaurant business. Hotels became a natural extension of that culture rather than a separate corporate invention. The brand's strongest properties combine highly individual architecture and interiors with Fasano restaurants, bars, pools, wellness and service that is polished without becoming ceremonially formal.

The portfolio deliberately spans several forms of luxury. São Paulo and New York are metropolitan houses; Rio de Janeiro is an urban beach hotel; Angra dos Reis and Trancoso are coastal resort expressions; Fazenda Boa Vista in Porto Feliz creates a country-club and residential environment; Salvador and Belo Horizonte interpret Fasano through important Brazilian heritage and urban settings. This variety makes Fasano a collection rather than a rigidly repeated hotel prototype.

Philosophy

Fasano's philosophy begins with hospitality as a family craft. The brand's restaurant heritage established an understanding of service built around recognition, discretion, food, conversation and social atmosphere. Hotels extend this sensibility into rooms, suites, pools, spas and destination experiences. The objective is not to overwhelm the guest with visible ceremony but to create confidence, ease and a sense of belonging within an elegant environment.

Brazilian identity is expressed without relying on a single decorative formula. Modernist architecture, tropical landscapes, historic buildings, Brazilian art, local materials and destination-specific design are used differently from property to property. Fasano therefore functions through cultural fluency rather than standardisation: the brand is recognisable in tone and service even when the physical hotels are radically different.

What distinguishes it

Gastronomy precedes hotels. Few luxury hotel brands emerge from a restaurant family with such a long operating tradition, and Fasano dining remains part of the brand's institutional identity rather than a secondary hotel amenity.

Brazilian social luxury is central. Bars, restaurants, pools and public spaces are designed not only for resident guests but as important social addresses within their cities and destinations.

Architecture is highly authored. Fasano has repeatedly worked with major architects and designers, allowing each hotel to respond to its site rather than applying one global interior package.

The portfolio moves between city, beach and countryside. São Paulo, Rio, Trancoso, Angra and Fazenda Boa Vista demonstrate that the Fasano service culture can operate in radically different Brazilian leisure and urban environments.

International expansion remains selective. New York extends Fasano outside Brazil without turning the company into a broad global chain, preserving scarcity and strong association with the family name.

WHO FASANO HOTELS IS NOT FOR

Fasano Hotels is a weaker fit for travellers seeking a large worldwide network, rigid brand standardisation, a conventional proprietary points-and-status ecosystem or resort experiences built around extensive programmed entertainment. The collection is relatively small and strongly dependent on the personality of each location. Guests who prioritise identical hardware and benefits across dozens of countries may prefer a global chain. Fasano works best for travellers who value gastronomy, design, Brazilian culture, social atmosphere, discreet personalised service, strong urban addresses and resorts that retain a sophisticated residential character.

Editorial note — Code and book number follow LHL Register v50.0, which places Fasano Hotels at LHL-059 / P1-04-18 in Volume IV — Local Ultra-Boutique & Private Collections. This Master treats Fasano as the hotel brand within the broader family hospitality business and does not count restaurants or residences as separate hotels. The collection spans major Brazilian urban and leisure destinations and has a selective international presence in New York. Because portfolio composition can evolve through openings, residences and mixed-use developments, the Master prioritises the established operating hotel network rather than presenting a potentially misleading universal property count. No proprietary public collection-wide points or status programme is presented; Loyalty is therefore recorded as None. Register v50.0.
